How long does a custom wardrobe take to make and install?
A custom wardrobe typically takes around 2-6 weeks from final approval to installation. Most standard wardrobes can be installed within 1 day, while larger walk-in wardrobes or multi-room projects may take longer.
Do you need council or strata approval for a built-in wardrobe?
Usually not. In NSW, installing or replacing a built-in wardrobe is generally considered cosmetic work in a strata property and does not require owners corporation approval. However, you should check your strata by-laws, particularly if structural changes or common property are involved.
What's the difference between built-in and walk-in wardrobes?
A built-in wardrobe is installed along a wall or within a recess and accessed directly from the room. A walk-in wardrobe is a separate storage or dressing space that you enter, allowing storage to extend across multiple walls.
Can you build a wardrobe into a sloped or uneven wall?
Yes. Made-to-measure wardrobes can be designed around raked ceilings, uneven walls, alcoves and non-square spaces, with the final layout determined during the measure.
Do you remove the old wardrobe?
Existing wardrobe removal and disposal can be arranged as part of the installation. Let us know when booking your measure so it can be assessed and included in your quote.
What is the standard depth of a built-in wardrobe?
A standard built-in wardrobe is approximately 600-650mm deep, providing enough space for adult clothing on standard hangers. Custom depths can be used where the room or storage requirements call for something different.
Do you install wardrobes in apartments?
Yes. Custom wardrobes can be installed in Sydney apartments as well as houses. Apartment installations may require planning around parking, lifts, loading access and building rules, so let us know about any restrictions when arranging your measure.
